My Wii Fit called me fat after I nearly set my gas BBQ on fire

This was one of the more eventful weekends I’ve had in a while.  Sure I spent a good chunk of it getting my hair done, but on Sunday I had a few friends over for a BBQ to start the summer.  I stocked up on lots of meat and marinated some tandoori chicken, jerk chicken, BBQ pork, and teriyaki beef the night before and it was all ready to go on the grill Sunday afternoon.

Thank God the rain held off (it started coming down just after I finished cooking the meat).  I was keeping my fingers crossed up until then since I would’ve been cooking all my meat on my indoor “Foreman Grill” if it started pouring and storming.  Went out about 2:30 and started with the meat.  I probably should’ve purchased an piece of pork that was already sliced:  I couldn’t get through half of it with my own knife, so just put she rest of the shoulder on the grill.  It’s that damn piece of pig and it’s drippings which sparked a ‘small’ inferno on the BBQ.  Going on the advice of my friends and my own common sense I closed the lid to the grill after turning off the burners hoping that the giant flames would die down.  Black smoke kept spewing out the rear of the grill, so I opened it back up and tried to shimmy the meat that was burning onto the opposite side of the grill where it was cooler.  After about a minute or so the flames eventually died down.  I had to chuck a chicken leg or two, but at least they were still edible: Cajun-style.

I wish I had my camera outside at the time to take some photos, but I assure you, the food was tasty! :D  Played my Wii Fit for the first time yesterday as well.  The set-up process where it analyzes your BMI and gives you a fitness test was a tad embarrassing… esp. when that damn thing said “oooh” everytime someone stepped on it.  Okay, so my Wii Fit didn’t call me fat, but it did state that I’m “overweight” with a BMI of 27.23.  I’m just wondering how accurate this can really be, since it doesn’t really incorporate other factors such as muscle mass into the score.  There is also a balance and posture test which was interesting.  The Wii Fit also gives you a Wii Fit Age:  mine is 38.  Looks like I have a bit more fitness to do in order to get back into my 20s.  The games were really fun though.  I loved the Ski Slalom and the Hula Hoop game.   Wii Fit is a lot of fun… especially with a groupe of people.

I’m going to try and stop myself from reaching into the freezer and taking a bowl of chocolate fudge brownie ice cream…

As a BMI, 27 is rather high, but not tremendously overweight. It is right on the line (as is mine). I’d recommend light dieting and some exercise. -shrug- Don’t worry about it too much.

What do you think?

What is 5 + 4 ?
